Restoring St Andrew’s

We're excited to be opening a new chapter in the history of St Andrew's, as we look to restore our building and create new opportunities for our local community.

If you're a local resident or regular visitor, you'll have seen that our wonderful Church is sadly in desperate need of major work. There are cracks in some of the walls and netting around the spire. We're on Historic England’s ‘Heritage At Risk’ register.

What’s more, we want to improve the layout of the internal space and give it a much needed facelift. We already welcome hundreds of people each week, to worship, to learn and to participate in community groups. We want to extend this welcome even further!

What we’ve got planned

  1. Repair the building’s exterior, safeguarding it for generations to come

  2. Refurbish and reconfigure the interior space, making it more accessible and adaptable to user needs

  3. Create more opportunities for us to serve the community

It’s an exciting, ambitious project which is estimated to cost around £5 million. To kickstart the process, we’ve brought in experienced external consultants to support us with fundraising and public consultation, and put in place a Building Committee to oversee project development.

Your support would make the world of difference – get involved!

St Andrew’s has served the community for many decades. Now it needs your help.

Support can come in many different forms, including:

  • Share your ideas – how can St Andrew’s best support your needs and interests? We’d love to hear your views

  • Become a partner – we hope to collaborate with more local community organisations to deliver social good

  • Spread the word – tell your friends and networks about the project, Do you know a person or company that could help?

  • Give – if you’re in a position to do so, please consider making a donation to our Building Fund.

Will you help us raise the money needed? Any donation, no matter how small, will help.
