St Andrew’s Church is a place where people from all sorts of different backgrounds, age groups and cultures meet to worship.

Some people have been Christians for many years, while others are just starting their journey of faith. Everybody is welcome in our church. We expect to see the transforming power of God at work in people’s lives and this is the basis of our preaching. We try to keep things fairly relaxed at St Andrew’s, not forgetting that we come into the presence of Almighty God. We see St Andrew’s as “an accepting community through the grace of God”.

Our parish straddles the Caledonian Road and is home to different communities. We love the diversity of our parish and that people from every area of the local community join together for worship. There is a lot of mobility and we are used to a situation where people come to our church for a fairly short period of time before moving to another part of London. Those who have made their permanent home in our church family see their role as ministering to and supporting people who are here for a short time. So whether you have taken up residence in our neighbourhood, or are here for a short while, then you are most welcome to join us for worship on Sundays.

Rector

Caroline Titley
Caroline came to Barnsbury in February 2022 as Priest-in-Charge and was made Rector in October 2023. She has overall responsibility for ministry in the Parish, which includes two churches: St Andrew's and Church on the Corner (our sister church, located at 64 Barnsbury Road). Caroline became a Priest after a career in housing, where she held senior positions in housing associations. She has spent most of her life in London and enjoys serving the diverse community in Islington. In her spare time, she enjoys mountain walking, playing and listening to music and following the fortunes of our national sporting teams.

Associate Minister

Idina Dunmore

Idina joined the Parish of Barnsbury team in July 2023, having previously been ministering in Southall. She is a Pioneer Minister, with responsibility for Church on the Corner, our sister church. She also runs services at St Andrew’s when Caroline is away, and you might see her getting involved with some of the work we do with families and in the local community. She loves good food - particularly samosas and cupcakes.

Children’s Worker

Heather Parker

Heather started at Barnsbury Parish in September 2017 as an Apprentice with the Diocese of London. She is originally from York, and lived there until going to agricultural university in the West Midlands to study animal management and welfare. She then had a bit of a change of direction, and during a New Wine festival one summer felt called to see what ministry work with young people and community was like. After a discipleship year in Hainault and an internship in Tollington Parish, Heather joined the Barnsbury team. She has a passion to see children and young people grow in their faith and to know the love of God. In her spare time she loves to do creative things like drawing and photography, exploring the outdoors and cooking.

Parish Administrator

Rachel Walker

Rachel joined the team in March 2023, and is the first point of contact for all things admin- and booking-related! Originally from the West Midlands, she moved to London in August 2022. She loves dogs (particularly golden retrievers) and really enjoys a good story well-told.
